The Parisian skyline is famous for promenently featuring historic landmarks such as the Eifel Tower, Montmatre Basilica, and the Arc de Triomphe. The city is devoid of the clutter of modern buildings that block out the sun and hide architectural wonders. To every rule however there is an exception and in Paris that exception is found in the Montparnasse area where Tour Montparnasse reaches for the sky as the tallest skyscrapper in France at 689 feet.
We had never visited the area and decided now was as good as time as any. The area also features a beautiful cemetary and catacombs, which we didn't explore as we arrived a little late in the day (15 minutes after closing) to take a tour. What we did discover was something that Mindy and I both came up with equal but unique names to describe. I would call it a "Garbage Sale" while Mindy stuck with the more traditional "Rummage Sale" or "Flea Market". There were also an open air market of artisits as the Montparnasse area is widely known for being home to part of the Parisian artist community.

If anyone is wondering what the freak is going on with my hair in the Tour Montparnasse picture, I don't blame you!! To quell the mounting curiosity (I'm sure!!), let it be known that it was one hell of a windy day and I just happenned to be standing in the worst possible position for an otherwise, very cute ponytail.
That being said, KUDOS to my handsome husband who continually and dilligently posts our adventures in this amazing city; most of which contain me, and I'm certain that if he could find a way at all to get me into a hockey uniform, you would also see me in his hockey videos. Sadly however, someone must work the Camera. Whew!!!
Being the object of blog addiction is not necessarily always my choice, but how could I possibly dissapoint the man who inheritted the "camara happy" gene from his lovely, yet photographically enthusiastic mother. The answer? I could not! Thankfully, the narcisist in me enjoys his ever doting attention and detailed revealing publication of my Parisian life. I know that I will be forever grateful to him when we return and have a web based journal to remember our crazy and extraordinary journey in what really feels like a surreal game of the imagination.
GOOD JOB HONEY!!! You are so amazing and I couldn't be prouder of you, or of being your wife.
LOVE Mindy!!!
